Default Hard-drive detection issues

This is more of a "if you think you've checked everything" nature...

I spent today migrating to a new motherboard, and I went to plug my hard-drives up and I keep gettin' the same error.

I tried everything, I changed the jumper settings, I tried unplugging and plugging up to the mobo again, I checked mobo instructions to make sure the RAID portion didn't need to be specially jumpered to put it back to the standard IDE bus, I went through about every troubleshooting procedure I knew to go through... I was thinking maybe the IDE channel got fragged on either the install or by UPS.

Then I looked at the back of my drive with everything out of it... one of my friggin' IDE pins had warped to the side, that's why it wasn't being detected...

I am SO going serial ATA my next hard-drive... I wouldn't have to worry about those fragile little frigging things AGAIN!

Anyway... sometimes, it just pays to look closer... that sucker was all the way off to the side, and it was hiding in the shadows from the way I was looking at the drive.

Looks as if there will be a few SATA drive coming quickly.
Tom's Hardware just reviewed the DiamondMax Plus 9 160 gig
The Seagate Barricuda ATA V is out and the drives are nearing 300gig.
Tom's really likes the DMax and with 100MB/s Xfer rate, I like it too.
