Exclamation laptop ques

i dunno what section is the reight section to put this in so i went for this one. So the new Dell XPS is out, they call it the Gen 2. But they have changed it over to Intel® Pentium M 760 processor, 2.13 GHz. My brother bought his dell laptop 4 years ago and its this fast. so whats the deal with this, s there something i need to know about the M chip that makes it as fast as the 3.8ghz p4 i can get from alienware in my laptop? cause right now im leaning towards alienware, unless someone can suggest a better company to buy from or can explain how it is as fast as that p4 3.8ghz. Thanks for your help

Alienware makes desktop replacements, not laptops. You can move it around, but theyre too big and heavy to use on the bus or something and have no battery life. The PentiumM uses less power, so the system is probabably an actual portable system with decent battery life. Also... Linky.

The Pentium M chips do also outperform their Pentium counter parts at the same clock speed. IOW, a 2.13GHz Pentium M is significantly more powerful than a P4 2.13GHz, how much more poerful, can't say without finding benchmarks for that chip... But the greatest end result is 4-6 hours of batterly life versus 1.5 -2.5 hours.

i went to a store today and the prices have really come down on what used to cost more than 2 grand. for around $1400 you can get an athlon 64, 1 gig of ram and radeon graphics. but that is still "low end" since its a X200 but its still alot more to offer than many other laptops. its quite amazing what these things are and how far they have come. im still looking into tablets.
