Default DvD Burning Problems

Ok,

I have a LG Super Multi DVD Writer 16x16 DVD +/-RW. I can play DvD's fine and I can burn regular cd's fine, but it will not let me burn any DvD's. If i insert a Blank DvD + R it does nothing, if I try and use Nero it tells me that it is not a CD and i must insert a cd to continue. Any idea's?

Yeah - it might be broken.

Has this always been like this or did it stop working recently? Where did you get the drive from? What other programs have you tried?

Some DVD drives arent supported in older versions of NERO - I have had to update my version before just to get basic burning capabilities.

I bought the drive like a month a go from memory express. I've never burned a DvD before only Cd's and everything was fine with those. I have only tried using Nero, it is the program that came with the drive.

I know on one version of Nero their are tabs on the far top right corner that indicate CD or DVD. Check to see if it's set to DVD. When you go into the screen to add files in nero how many MB's does it show on the bottom counter?

Yeah, you do know you have to shrink the DVD before you burn it right?
