| I have a thermaltake Tsunami case, and I have noticed for quite some time that if I close the door while the computer is on, it will often freeze. I think this has something to do with it being shocked when the door closes, and I have to reboot w/ button, but after that it is fine. It is a pain for me to have the door always open because my chair often hits it, and today I got sick of the freezing so I removed the door. I am just wondering, do other people find this a problem with the Tsunami or any other case with a front door? Thanks. | ||

| I have not had any issues with mine as well. Check BA's suggestion, also make sure that all your plugs including the 20 pin and the 4 pin along with all the other important wires are in good. Also, does the freeze happen instantly? I was just thinking that if you left the door on for a while then possible heat can lead to your system freezing. | ||

| No it is definentally not a wiring issue, I think it has something to do with a shock because it usually only happens if I close the door with any speed. If i close it extremely slowly and prevent it from "snapping" shut at the very end, most of the time it will not freeze. Its pretty dissappointing because I enjoy the look of it with the door closed, but I often open the front up to use my fan and cathode controllers, so its inconvenient for me to always just leave it closed, etc., I need to be opening it a lot. One thing I am thinking about is possibly bending the retaining clips out a little so they hold the door closed with less force, that way it would hit and be as violent when it closes. Oh well, too late for me to mess around with it tonight, but thanks for the input, I'll see how it goes. And any other comments/suggestions as aprpeciated in the meantime. EDIT: sorry spike, didnt answer your final question: when it does happen, it freezes the instant that the door does the final snap shut under the force of the bent metal retainers pulling the door closed the last centimeter or so. I know that this is the precise moment because after I noticed that it tended to freeze when i closed the door, i did a test in which i closed the door while moving the mouse across the screen and the mouse stopped & the comp froze right when the door finally closed. | ||

| If that is the case, you have a short. Probably in the motherboard mounting. Pull the board and reinstall using small cardboard washers on the underside and topside. You can cut them out of a manila folder. Just make sure they are slightly larger than the screw heads. That is about the only device that interacts directly with the case except for the power and reset buttons. | ||
