Angry Raid Problem

Ok...I have 2 60 gig deskstars set up in a raid 0 config... i have a onboard promise controller...when i go through my startup..after by primary bios screen the raid controller scans the array to make sure its functional...and it is...i install windows xp with the 3rd party controller...i install fastrack to monitor my array...everything else says i have 120 gigs....but when i right clikc on my c drive and go to properties it says i only have 57.2 gigs...now ive reinstalled the driver and still the same thing...im getting ready to my monitor....i also have a seperate 120 gig in the primary ide slot....please some of you computer gurus help me

did you make a partition and format it (deleting the old ones)

that is what happens you will only see half of your total capacity in a raid 0 config. that is normal so don't freek out. if you were to set the aray to jbod you will see all the disks as 120 gig. raid 0, 1, 0+1 will only let you see half of the rated capacity due to mirroring, stripeing, or mirror/ stripe setup.

Ducati striped set will allow you to see both hd's as one. That is a 0 aray. Kali are you running windows xp? Did you reformat the drives?is the os on these drives? I run a raid 0 with 2 100 gig deskstars and if you give me alittle info maybe i can help.

I also am running a dual HD RAID 0 array.
First, if you have XP go to Drive Manager and make sure they have been formatted and partitioned. Second, I've heard of really weird cases on high cap. drives where the famous hidden XP partition is bigger than it should be. Have a look, also at the driver, and make sure you have the most recent one.

i found out what the problem was...my onboard raid controller drivers was on a cd rom....so i copied it onto a disk because winxp wont let you search anywhere else like cd rom...when i made my ghetto disk i did not copy the other files i needed and i reformatted both drives individually....now everything is working fine....240 gigs to play with thanks though
