digtal camera to webcam?

I was just sitting here wondering if its possible to use any newer digital camera as a webcam too? I dont have the exact model number right now cause im at work but I think its a Cannon A400 or something? It's USB and such.

Just a thought...

ya like 95% of digitalcams can be used as webcams, when u make sure u have the right model ill help u with the drivers or software or w/e u need (Y)

yeh, on mine all I had to do was install the video drivers and switch the cam to video mode whilst plugged into the usb.

Can also record with movie maker.

Reason I stopped using it is that it had an auto off and would switch off after like 2 minutes

noslak srry to inform u that your part of that 5% that cant use there digicams as a webcam, and dreyco plug your usb wire from your cam to your comp and on the camera find were it says webcam mode.. and vuala.. if u dont find it wip out your manual it should be there.

Ya thought so, couldnt get it figured out a while back, my Sony camcorder is the same, GD Sony.
