LCD failing?

I have a ViewSonic VA520 LCD and everytime I shut it off green lines appear all over. Then once and awhile these green lines show up when it's actually on but rare.

I have 1 year left on the repacement plan and I thought about bringing it in for a new one.
Thing is would Best Buy allow me to upgrade to a 17" as long as I paid the difference?

make sure your video cable isnt loose. if its not that then one of the ribbon cables that connect the lcd to the controller are probably loose so you would want to go put that product replacement plan best buy pushed to good use. you need to make it show the problem at the diagnostics desk though. what they will do is replace it with the equlivent new model and whether they let you upgrade it is kind of up to the manager. if you hit it gently and see green lines it will confim that something is loose. otherwise its probably a timeing issue yet still a problem. i do belive they offer some kind of trade in deal with the PRP since your supposed to be able to trade in your PS2 and pay a little more and get a PS3 when it comes out. of at least thats what they tell you when you buy one.
