| Etiquette & English Gentleman | I've put this in the "other hardware" section as the strap line for it on the forums page seemed to fit
... well, it's hardware & it doesn't fit into the other categories ![]() Has anyone here got a Crosman Benjamin EB series / Sheridan Prohunter CO2 pistol? (I've also attached a pic in case it's known by some other name as well ) .... If so, I've got a few questions ...First off, how many consistent shots do you get out of an average gas capsule? I was expecting 50 to 60 (or was that someone being too optimistic?), but I'm only getting 40 - any more than that & the power drops right off, so much so that you can see the pellet flying off on a downward arc... Input from anyone else with a gun that uses the standard 12g caplets would be useful for comparision, especially if you can tell me the calibre & claimed power output (mine's .177" & 5-6 ft/lb) Secondly, and more specifically, has anyone sucessfully modified the trigger on theirs? I'm thinking that just because it doesn't have any obvious adjustability, it doesn't mean that it's not adjustable ... my problem is that the pull is very heavy - which causes a fair amount of wobble when firing, with a loose group of shots being the result. Check out the attached card for example. I'm not worried by the fact the grouping is high as I can adjust the rear sight for elevation, it's the looseness of the group (1.75" wide & 1.5" high) that's bothering me ... this is a 17x17cm card shot one-handed at 10m (33') btw. | I don't know much about your specific airpistol but I can tell you about mine and give you an idea of whats normal. I have one of the Gamo P-23 pistols. I average around 50 shots per 12 gram Co2 so I wouldn't think your's is that far off from the regular. If your target you posted is 17x17cm @ 10m yours will outshoot mine by a large amount, granted mine wasn't sold as a target or hunting gun. With round BB's from mine at that distance I would use an 40cm pizza box as a target, with the pointed pellets I can drop that down to roughly half that size but it is not the nice groups you have. They tend to scatter and drift from the point of aim. Mine shoots the 4.5mm/.177" pellets also, not shure as to the ft/lbs but they claim a velocity of 125m/s. I would think if you took your time and really learned how the trigger functioned you could lighten it up and make it smoother. Just be carefull, you don't want to change anything that could make it unsafe. Anyway, good luck with it and have fun. | ||
