HP is selling their z540 Entertainment Center for $1299. Personally I think a system just as good (if not better) can be built. Every review I've read knocks it for crashing with Windows Media Center 2005. Here is what I am trying to accomplish.

I want to get rid of my A/V receiver, 80GB TiVO, and DVD player and combine all those functions into a computer. I'll need optical output, RF in/out, and DVI out (when I buy an HDTV). I also want a slimline case to have a low profile as possible.

Since I know all geeks love cruising New Egg, I'd like to hear some different configurations.
