Default My drives or my comp?

Ok so I just dropped 500 bones at svc last month making my system prettyful, among the things I bought, were 2 Samsung drives, a TS-H293A (cd-r/rw) and a TS-H552U (dvd -/+ r/rw). So I have been trying to make some cd and I am having a very hard time.

I have made a few working music cd's burning at 16x or 8x(keep in mind this is a 52x drive...) and I have made a few discs on the DVD burner (cd's not dvd's) between 4x and 8x. I have yet to get a DVD to burn. I have tried making dvd (video) and once its done transcoding, it will sit there forever killing my comp (98%cpu) and make me reboot. If I try to make a data disc (or any thing on a dvd) it dose the same, sits there forcing me to reboot.

I have tried many batches of blanks so I know thatÂ’s not the problem. My old burner wouldnÂ’t burn either but it was a very crappy one which my friend had problems with so im not sure if it is my mobo or if it is something else.

Mobo is an nf7-s (r2). I have new ide cables so it isnÂ’t them.

Anyone have a clue? Thanks

have you updated drivers and firmware? try burning at a slower speed. though disks say 8x some still don't like to be burned at high speeds.
