Wireless network card help

I'm trying to install a wireless card into one of my computers but it just aint working. I initially purchased the D-Link G520 (108 mbps) and it would cause my computer to lock up every time, and the few times it didnt lock up immediately it got a very weak signal.

I took that back and got the G510 (54mbps) and it's doing the same thing. I've been looking around the net and there is apparently a problem with the VIA chipset (that's what I have, Abit KT7A-raid mobo with VIA chipset) and the Atheros chipset found in ALL current wireless cards (from all manufacturers too, apparently).

My question is does anyone here have a wireless pci card and a AMD/VIA chipset combo working together, or has anyone else had these problems and found a resolution?

I had a similar problem with my via chipset board. Except it was with ATI and VIA. It wouldnt like to run my card. It would lock up contantly it sucked. Look for the latest drivers for everything. Including the VIA drivers. Good luck.

Yeah my friend said the ATI and VIA issues were a nightmare, and now with this problem I'm having, I don't doubt him. Sounds like reason to avoid VIA like the plague...
