power supplyneed help fast pls

i ordered a ati 9700(218$~) and i just read it takes alot power. so i go to ati site they recomend a 300ps to use it....they dont say how much it exactly uses...bastards....so now i need a new ps cuz mine is only 200.......so i find a 400watt ps works to 2ghz and costs 16$....but it has 2 fans
one on top and in the normal position...
i dont have a blow chute on top of my PS
can i still use it????????

no actully you are looking at it upsidown that fan on "top" is actully on the bottom when put in your PC, its an intake.

also......(just incase) if you PC is a Dell, dont use a standard PSU with it , they will fry your system.

thats actually the bottom it sucks air out of the case and sends it through and out of the case

YES!!! When it comes to a pc component NEVER be cheap when it comes to a PSU. It is one if not the most important pieces of a system. Your computer is only as good as the power that feeds it. Personally I would go with an Antec PSU but there are plenty of good ones out there.

I would go with a well know brand , the PSU is THE MOST important thing in your case. If where putting an engine in your car, would you put one in they sold at walmart?

I had a generic 400w PSU that i got for 16 bucks... after a month it startd to smoke... and now that I got a new one (thanks Scape!!) my system even runs cooler.
