| I was wondering of a way to reduce the amount of space the round IDE cable take up. One of the things i was thinking about was to take the exterior of the cable off so that the individual 40 wires are showing and then wrap those wires tighter with electrical tape. I would do this so that, hopefully, they would become more manageable and not be as thick. Would this work at all? or would this cause problems without the exterior to the cord? | ||

| Apex Techie I | Just get a longer cable and run it out of the way of everyhitng so that there will be no chance of airflow restriction im assuming thats what your worrying about is airflow. They do sell those new IDE cables that are more aero dynamic, if thats somthign you might like | |

| well tape can get a little stiff and for the idea of heat shrink dont know about that either seems like when that stuff shrinks get gets really hard ..if you went back to flat cables i cut mine and then when i went back to taping em i just split the difference and wrapped 2 strands instaed of of all taped together. | ||
