Are antec power supplies quiet?

Just a simple question as i plan on purchasing one

Hey bugz.

I have never had one ....... but everyone speaks highly of them. I know piper and BA (and many others) are big fans.

You definitely can't go wrong with Antec, and were I buying, a True Power would be my choice.

I have a TrueBlue 480watt, and to be honest it is not as quiet as the 400 watt Antec I put in a buddies computer. I think the bigger TruePower models are a little louder then the more average models.

My personal experiences with EPC aren't the greatest - prices are too high, and it took them a while (2 days) to respond to my email. I say take a look @ www.newegg.com

I have a I have a TrueBlue 480 watt also and I can barely hear it.

hmmm, I've got one, and it was quiet, but that was because the fans are themally controlled. They weren't going hard enough tho, and it was making my case hot, so I opened it up and gave the fans full power. It wasn't too much louder, and it made quite a big difference in temps.

I am actually currently using a 400W supply that came default with my case but it is too noisy. So i guess ill get a 400W Antec, as suggested. This is the current supply im using:

.PowMax LP-7700E

Yes, i know it sucks, thats why the seller wants $20 for it. HA

ive got a 300w antec that i bought as a tester ps, its quite quiet and they are thermal controlled. whats a good 400w ps?

I was so happy with the low noise of the Antec 450(not true blues) True powers that i have bought 3 of them 1 for each of mine and 1 I gave away that I wanted really quiet.
