Thumbs down What's wrong with my MX700 ?!?

Ok I JUST bought it yesterday, I bring it home, install it on my friends computer, it works fine, I bring it to my house, WILL NOT connect, I push the button on the mouse and the LED turns off but that's it. I put it on the recharger for 7 hours straight last night and this morning the thing still has NO battery charge, did I get a faulty one?
The mouse led codes are as follows REDRED.... Green....Red...Green....Red..Off REDRED... Green.. etc.
That's not even in the book. :\

I believe you forgot the button on the reciever, but thats what I can pull from what you told me. I think you'd know that, and call me an idiot for suggesting this, but you didn't tell everything so...

Well my dad fixed it, I watched him, he was just fiddling, all he did was put the batteries in backwards, put it in the charger for about 30 seconds, put them in normal and it worked fine, still does, so feel free to try this anyone who has problems.

Cool

Putting the batteries in the wrong way is a BAD idea. It could destroy both the mouse and the batteries, especially if you try to charge it.

It would probably have worked just to remove the batteries and reinserting them.

Strange error though...

No, believe me, I tried reinstalling the batteries, new batteries, different batteries, the thing wasn't charging, now the only problem is when the computer goes to sleep, after it wakes up only main, and right click and the wheel work. :\
