Unhappy Overheating???

Hey pimpz0rz! well recently my place has been a little warmer than usual and when playing games my pc freezes up and i get the "broken record" effect through my speakers. Ive spoken with tek about this and we both agreed it was my PSU (antec trueblue 480) and thought i should rig it with some 12v rifle fans. i did this today and my psu is much much cooler, yet i am still having problems gaming. im starting to think it might be my chipset, as it gets hotter than anything else. however, neither the cpu or the chipset get over 38C. any idears?
This is my current setup:
asus p4p800dx fsb @ 1100
p4 2.4C @ 3.3 air
AIW 9700 PRO
antec trueblue 480
1gb corsair xms pc3200

thanks!

How about your video card?

Is it overclocked or not?

Also , for cooling on the chipset, try putting a desktop fan infront of the side of the case with the side panel taken off. If you get more "broken records" come back.

ya i have tried this, i have 5 case fans, two of which placed directly on the chipset and gpu. my aiw is not overclocked and it has a zalman heatpipe on it, so i doubt there are any cooling problems there. my side panel is off and has been off for quite some time, im proping up the case fans with random things lol.

edit: ok so now i just tried to check my advanced display settings and got a reboot. not once, not twice, but 8 separate times with breaks in between. i am going to clear my drivers and such and see if it is a software problem.

Are you using on board sound? If so thats probably your problem, I have seen boards do things like that when OC'd while using a onboard sound controller.
