mirror raid

anyone runnin raid setups?

is there any little tricks I need to know or experiences you can tell me about?

I'm gonna be using a abit kr7a raid and a highpoint rocketraid 133
runnin 8 disks in a mirrored in sets ( i might stripe my gaming drive? )

any suggestions?

BTW do the drives have to be on the same IDE channel as master/slave? or on 2 different channels? (2 masters 2 slaves)

I've been using a raid setup for years, but only 2 drives striped, not 8. What controller are you planning on using? I don't have any advice, there is no difference to running raid versus straight IDE.

I guess I do have one tidbit, keep an up to date image of your drive. I had one of my array's die because of a bad IBM drive, took out everything. I had a recent image and I was back up in 30 minutes.
