| Apex Advanced Techie | Ive had this monitor for about 5 years, never had problems with it, but its never been cleaned on the inside, and I always catch my cat sleeping on it...think its a good idea to do this? Any tips? Thanks | |

| I've got a tip for you.....don't die. Opening a monitor can be EXTREMELY dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. Plus, if it ain't broken, don't fix it! But seriously, if you really think you need to clean it out....look around for information on opening monitors first and make sure you know what you are doing. | ||

| Cant be a terrible idea, i've heard of peoples monitors exploding from cat hair shorts, just be careful. Unplug, let sit for 24 hours at least, and dont touch anything inside esp. with anything conductive. (coming from the guy whos modded monitor shocks him when he turns it on...) | ||

| Read up first. Not only are monitors extremely dangerous, to the point where you could die, but older ones are more dangerous. Find out about your monitor, find out about general monitor repair, and most importantly, don't half-ass the wait time. There's tons of capacitors in there that will take ages to fully drain. Truthfully, I wouldn't do it, but then exploding from cat hair shorts kind of sucks too. | ||
