| Apex Master Tech | Better title: "Why speel correctacally when yew can speel gangsta?" Seriously, members frown upon bad english here. Cover your ass with asbestos. ![]() Link it next time too. Edit: Why don't you just buy a good mobo? Your suggestion is risky, so I take it you don't mind the possibility of turning your pc into a large paperweight? Then again, if you don't have a usb purt on your pc, it's probably only good as a paperweight anyway. I'd recommend a PCI to USB card if you really need USB and don't have the funds. That one is really cheap and won't cost a fortune to ship. Last edited by Ryj; 13-October-04 at 09:37 PM.. | |

| Apex Techie Wannabe | For all the errors in my post's I blame the stupid Mac I am forced to use at school. Swear itÂ’s almost imposable to use. Where is my other mouse button man and why do I have to smash the spacebar with hammer to get it to work some 1 get me a pc please. Any way moving on What I was wanting to achieve was having my normal ide hard drives running through the usb port so like an external hard drive with out the price and fancy parts. I found that adaptor on the net but it was still quite pricey so why canÂ’t I build 1? Was just wondering if any one had some wiring diagrams? Thanx all Oh and I hate Mac Kill the apple Ssfgdjrejgjearekrwqmimjefiemjfgmnbjnqr3onouqnb (hit the keyboard) all spell checked in Microsoft word woot | |

| Apex Techie Wannabe | Yes true SATA would be a hell of a lot faster but I was wanting to use it on my original HDDs so no SATA and I would have to buy an adaptor or build it like I want to. But big problem with that I dear is I only have like 2 channels on my Abet AN7 board which I am planning to use for my Seagate 120GB bacuda drives. Plus when I want to steal some stuff of my mateÂ’s old computer (who is lost in the past Duron 700 lol) who has no SATA I can with the USB. And another point I havenÂ’t seen SATA ports on the outside of a case so I would have to open up and swap. PS I can blame every thing and anything on the MAC and on Microsoft | |
