What is this? please help

Hi, I got these screen things from someone and never really paid any attention to what they are or anything but since im seeing people add screens to their pc's to show info and stuff i thought i would try and find out what they are any and all help is very welcome

.

I have 3 pic's of it 1 is the front, 1 is the back, and 1 is a group of leters and number in a couple places.
I added the pics as attachments i think so hope you can all see them.

Looks an awful lot like an LCD from a cell phone. I can't be sure because I don't have measurements or a manufacturer name to go by, but it's a possibility.

Sorry about that its not a cell phone lcd way to big for that its

6 1/2 inchs by 4 1/4 inches. thats from tip to tip not screen size.

Its an LCD for a PDA, made by Sumitomo Chemical Company in Japan

You sure? it seems kinda wide for a pda screen but anyway could i use it as a lcd screen for my case like others have to display info and stuff or even to show video on?

With the proper controller I am sure you can but finding that may be a task in itself.

Could you elaberate? i have no idea how to do it but i saw a how to on using a old laptop screen to do itt so i was figuring it would be pretty much the same.

Throw it off a 3 story building, use it for target practice with your favorite "projectile" weapon, make a rather bland soup...... the possibilities are endless.

I wouldn't destroy it. You might want to go out and purchase a learner's guide for Visual Basic. After you master it, you can continue with your project.

Thanks for the ideas (all of them). And i do plan on learning the rest of VB sometime but i was hoping there was something i could do with it now (computer wise) that wouldnt be too hard or money/time consuming.

You can clean the dust off from the screen.

You can try modding your case. I would recommend the use of a dremel. You might want to order some ccfls and plexi glass if you don't have any already.

It's hard to tell you what to do since we don't know what your rig looks like.

Actually most of the dust is probably on the scanner havent used the thing in months lol.

I havent modded my or any case yet cuze of lack of real money.

I have 2 of these screens so for now i would just to see what kinda stuff i can get it to do fairly easy so i can plan it into some mods later on.

and my case is just a regular pre modded window case.
