Default Round IDE Cables

Ok so heres the deal, I need to replace the IDE cable for my cd drive. I was thinking of going with a round cable and got to thinking. The slots on my mobo where the IDE cables go run parallel. Wouldn't it be cool if I could have the cables different shapes so the cable on the first one comes out from the top of the connector, the cable on the middle one straight out the middle, and the last one at the bottom of the connector. I'm assuming I am not going to find them like this, so does anyone know what those boots are made of, and how hard would it be to fabricate your own?
I was thinking of using maybe plasti dip for tool handles, and making some kind of form.

They are made of soft vinyl a little stiffer than tool dip. However the toulene base of the tool dip I used softened the insulation on my set, way too much to be safe in my opinion.
Tool dip where I'm at, is 23 bux.
Much more pricey than a good set of EIDE cables including floppy cable and shipping...

Where are a few good links for those items? Do cheap cables slow you down?

Hmm... I'm thinking you didn't quite catch what I'm gettin at, I'll try to draw. I want to use round IDE cables I just want the boots to be offset from center on two of them.

EDIT: Well I was going to upload a drawing I made in paint (don't laugh) but its not an acceptable format. I don't suppose anyone can host this little ditty for me?

I wouldn't know how hard it would be to fabricate them... but.. you might have problems with some of the wires being stretched too far...

Electrical tape would do the job, too, and if you take your time wont look completely like ass.

Does anyone know of any pourable/moldable plastic that I could pour into a mold? If I remember correctly the sites that carry the round cables say they are pvc. Is this something someone could aquire and make your own?

Heavy duty Heatshrink tubing in a couple of layers might work. O rif you look at your local hardware store they make an Epoxy for plastic repair that dries like plastic. Or if your good, fiberglass resin, I use that for everything. I build alot of custom pieces for Hot rods using resin.

Is fiberglass resin flexible? I would think it would crack if flexed.

Yes it would crack if flexed, but if you get it where you want it then you shouldnt need to move it.
