Default CMOS reset switch mod

Not sure this forum is the proper place but no others seemed to fit either.
At any rate, I thought this may come in handy for you reviewers and those that are constantly tweeking their O/Cs.

That's a great idea, but I think it would be smarter to make it so that switch can't be turned so easily...such as using an ignition switch.

Yeah, putting it on a PCI backplate or somewhere on the back would probably be best as mentioned to keep kids/others away from it, as well as having the CD audio plug attached to make it portable.

Wow what a coincidence, just last Friday I was thinking about doing the same thing to my Gateway mod, the mobo has the CMOS jumper in the far corner and my voodoo 2 gets in the way of access and I hate having to take it apart, was going to actually do the mod this weekend but got swamped with work.

What happens if you do reset it while you're running the 'puter? Anyone ever try?

And cool idea.

you should use a switch that requires a key, keep the key on one of those chains with tiny little balls on it like on your bath/sink plug..... that will definately stop anything from happening, you could even do the secret agent/government thing and have two swtiched and you need to do both for it to work
