| You may try putting them on seperate controllers/channels. I was thinking that if they were that could have been the cause of the slow down if you didn't have the IDE channels set to NONE in their properties in the controll pannel. On the advanced tab of the IDE channel's properties they have two settings, auto detect and none. If they are set to autodetect on the second device where there is none, it will seach for it and take a little bit longer to say there is none. | ||

| Apex Techie Lite | i'm starting to get confused now,,, i unhooked the cd roms,,, still really slow booting/ performance,,, hooked up a diff psu to make sure the comp was getting enough voltage (since i sleeved my butterfly some of the atx connectors aren't too well fit in)... i'm calling msi tech support to figure out y since i flashed the bios i've been getting new hardware messagaes saying "base system device detected.. please install etc.".. that could be it,, and i'm gonna mess around with the bios more.. thanks.. | |

| It seems you have fixed the problem already but you may also want to check your BIOS for settings that you can tweak for faster boots. I know for the Shuttle AN35/N Ultra mobo there is a setting in the Advanced BIOS features to enable Quick POST. You may try searching for settings such as that for even faster booting. | ||
