Default floppy drive

After installing my windows xp it didnt seem to have any sort of drivers for things such as my onboard network card. I fixed the problem by using the CD with drivers on it from the motherboard.

The problem I have is that I dont know where the drivers are for my floppy drive which was from a totally different computer. How do I find this?

floppy drives don't need drivers. The drivers are built into all editions of windows.

Yep...

...and if you're floppy isn't working, make sure the cable isn't backwards

Yeah, what they said. If the floppy drive light remains on, then you've got an upside down ribbon cable for sure.

Yeah - no drivers for floppies. Make sure its setup correctly in the BIOS. Had a PC I put a floppy in and tried forever to get it to recognize - floppy driver controller was disabled in the BIOS.....

yep, noob moment - upside down floppy cable... but from what you said you dont seem to have dug into the inside of your rig...checking bios to see if the floppy drive is actually there might be usfull - should be on the first page you come across, or on STANDARD setup.
