| well my mx500 had been cutting in and out for a while now, and it just finally died today, so i need a new mouse. this is the second logitech mouse thats been bad for me (i had an mx700 before but it was unresponsive at high movement speeds, and being a low-sensitivity player that mouse wouldnt cut it). SOOOOO..... ive basically narrowed it down to an mx510 or that new one from the ppl who own razer or whatever they are now, their new optical one that was just reviewed on 3dgameman. unfortunately, i dont want to deal with logitech cause of the experience with this mouse, but at the same time while it did work it was the best dam mouse possible. any ideas? should i get one of these or look elsewhere? | ||

| Well, as far as I know the new Razor one is a ball mouse = nono; I'd go for the MX510, that thing looks nice visually and on paper. Let us know how it works BTW, my wireless desktop setup is a little annoying, I can feel the lag sometimes in games, its minimal but hey. | ||

| sorry i didnt say this earlier, but clarification.... i want to spend around 50-60 tops, it has to have at least 5 buttons ( i use them in gaming, this eliminates the razor i jsut realized) and have a very very good sensor that can take fast movements.... basically, im asking if i should get microsoft or give logi anotehr try | ||

| I got a MouseMan Wheel optical mouse, look in Clown's gallery he modded one, I prefer it over the newer gamer mice (it fits my hand sooooooooo perfect) and it's BLOO it doesn't have as many buttons but I absolutely love it, a HUGE upgrade over a Microsoft wheel mouse, the factory white ones with balls in them. | ||

| well i kinda think its my fault. messing with the chord (bending it and such) will cause the light to come on for a few secs, so its obviously a svrewed up chord. i didnt take good enough care of it when transporting it to lans. either way, this just gives me an excuse to upgrade to 510, which is a lot smoother from what i hear, and in the world of ut, smooth is good ![]() | ||

| I went MX500(counter strike days) to MX510 (no diffrence that I could tell) then to my mx 700, all the reviews I read about the mx700 says it has perfect responce time and tehre is no diffrence between it and a corded mouse ....this is a lie!! you can tell the difrence between the mx500 and mx700...there is just such a small delay..its anoying..im not impressed with it but its good enough becuase i really dont play much video games anymore. | ||

| I picked up an Mx510 myself despite already having a perfectly good Mx500 (because it was on sale for 40 bucks! So I couldn't pass it up). Awesome mouse once again, and the included drivers far better optimize the buttons to work better with games (as before, their 'up to date' drivers still wouldn't allow me to configure the Mx500 to most FPS's I was playing). Though I did pick up a red one, _then_ saw there was a blue version (which shows up during installation), unfortunately, I've still had no luck in finding such a thing _anywhere_, so good luck on that. This is certainly the best looking and best mouse overall that I've ever owned. But hey, I haven't tried that new microsoft setup with the scroll wheel that shifts side to side as well as scroll. | ||

| Go to nearest retail store and pick a couple up - try them and return the one you dont like. I ended up with the MX700 and I dig it. I think its already been mentioned but try out a Microshaft optical mouse - not sure if you can configure it or not but that tilting wheel thingy could be handy. | ||
