Default DDR3200 in dual channle mode

I have a asus a7n8x that says im running my 512 (256X2) in dual channle mode at 200mhz. Is that right? I thought each stick of 3200 runs at 400mhz and when you combine the two and enable dual channle mode then they run together at 800mhz? Or is it that they each run at 200mhz and when you enable dual channle they together run at 400Mhz??? Please help my head hurts!!!!

you misunderstand dual channel, i cant epxlain it to you but the ram dosnt run faster, but thers 2 memory controllers so you get about 50%more bandwith in dual channel mode. as as far as the 200mhz, that is yoru fsb, the main data path on your mobo, and DDR ram stands for double data rate, and that is were your 400mhz will come from, so 200 is 400. get what im sayin?
edit: no tycoon, they do not have to be in dual channel to run at 400mhz.
