Dual Link PCI Card

I got this for christmas and the USB 2.0 works like a champ, but the 2 Firewire ports light up my portable hard drive, but i can't access it anywhere from it. ADS' website gives me no help (hell, their manual doesn't even have a TROUBLE SHOOTING SECTION!!!!). Its still kinda pissing me off, even though I now have the NF7-S w/ the Firewire that works

I just thought that maybe it was a motherboard problem, or it really could be that those firewire ports just don't work... which would suck, because my parents spend 60 bucks or so on it...

Here are my system specs
AMD 2800+ (333)
ABIT NF7-S v2.0
512MB PC2700

yeah but then i gotta open another internet explorer and type in a box... lotta work. anyway, did you have to install drivers for it? What I usually do with my pci deelies when they don't work is just pull out the card, while the computer is off, turn on the computer. turn it off. plug back in the card. turn it back on. It re-recognizes what you installed kinda that second chance kinda thing. For some reason I had to do that with my tuner card. It wouldn't gimme sound. Also what operating system are you running? does it recognize firewire ports? The USB ports still work tho' right?

me too i just happend to have one alredy open

Yes sometimes doin wat ya said will fix the prob and if it still dont work try it in another pci port some times cards are picky like that

I'm running WinXP. It came with drivers, but its only for those who are unfortunate to be running anything below XP. It may have security flaws, but damn its good

I'll try that PCI swap thingie ma bopper...but, the Dave Matthews Cover Band is at my school today, so i'm gonna start drinking and listen to some good music
