Default Bridge the routers wirelessly?

So I gots a buddy. He lives upstairs with his multiple computers and his router.

Downstairs is his landlord with his wireless router connected to the cable modem and the Internet.

So my buddy can either access his stuff upstairs or wirelessly access the Internet downstairs but not both at the same time. What a drag!

He needs to "bridge" the routers right?

How does he do that without running wires? Can it be done in software or does he need to buy some hardware?

P.S. There is a co-ax into his computer room. Is he better off getting a second cable modem? Would Comcast mind or throw a hissiefit?

If he gets a second modem he will have to contact Comcast as he will not get a connection. This is because the modem needs to registered with Comcasts network. It will not get an IP address otherwise.

He would need to get one of these to do it w/o wires, assuming his landlord has no issue with bridging the two routers...

Newegg.com - Wireless Bridge, Wireless Ethernet Bridge, 802.11b, Wireless Networking Bridge, Wireless-G Access Point, Wireless Access Point

he should be able to bridge both routers, depending that they support being bridged.

im sure if you list what brand/model routers being used, we might be able to provide some help.

most likely, he will need to access both routers and config them.
