Default Desperatly Need To Find A Mouse - Help!

I use to draw a lot in my computer, I learned using my mouse, but since I would say about a year or so since my one
mouse that worked great died, so nice wireless cheap mouse, I have not been able to doing any drawing and in fact been having trouble ever since. It seems that when ever I try to draw I can't get it to feel right or work right. It seems to me that the mouse does not go where I want or move how I want. I draw line but they are not fluid and I feel like I am fighting the mouse on little things, getting it precisely where I want it to be. I had an MX Revolution (till I broke the receiver and had to throw the whole thing out) but even that did not work right, now I am stuck with the mouse that came with my S510 keyboard and its worse. I don't know if it just the crap mouse, the surface I am using or what.

Anyone have recommendations on a mouse to use? I am getting a iceMat 2nd to use as my new surface and I have looked at so many mice I am going nuts. I am leaning toward laser, for a higer DPI, but beyond that I don't know. I would like to stick with wirless if I could but if a corded is best for what I need and I can draw again that would be fine, I can buy one for drawing and one for other stuff.

Thanks!

Best two mice are the Razer DeathAdder and the Logitech G5 IMO. Both work fine on my IceMat.

Yerp, Tablet is your best bet if you're going to be drawing. If you don't have the change for that, I second 'flux's recommendations. I use the G7 myself, I hate wires.

I had a Wacom once upon a time and got rid of it, could not get use to it plus it was too small. The VisTablet are not that great, kind of a poor mans Wacom I guess, I would not get one, no offense. I am wanting to get a Cintiq when I have all my duckets saved but until then I'll stick with my mouse. Thanks for the info anyways.

I have been looking into the G7 and I am not happy about the battery life that people have been reporting. I don't want to be replacing the battery every 1-2 hours if that is true. Is that your experience with it?

I can personally vouch for the Cintiq---it is probably the single most awesome piece of equipment I have ever played with.

I have not had any problem with the Vistablet myself, been working great for me. Sure I would love a Cintiq, but those are still little bit to high dollar for me

Yep, definitely falls into the rich bastard category, but I am hoping for a wee price drop by the time the money is saved up.
