Is the battery perhaps super-flat? what happens if you plug it in to charge?

I note if I pull the battery on my 8700, it tends to put the red lamp on when reinserted too.

Keep the battery off for at least 30's then put back in to reset it. If that doesn't work take the battery off, take the card out, then put put the battery back to see if it does anything. Other than that I'm lost. If u have it under warranty I'd use it.

I small update of sorts ..............

I had a chance to mess around a bit, and I can wipe the BB , then using the desktop manager, I can reload the os and appz. My pc see's the BB and loads everything fine ( says install finished) but it still wont power up at all ?

Ive tryed the battery thing ,even left it over night , but still no love.

Any other ideas, I dont think its totally busted because my pc can connect to it .

P.S. This aint my crackberry - its my daughters and she bought it off CL

Chances are she bought a Blackberry with a poorly constructed replacement battery manufactured in China. Best thing to do is to throw the battery away and purchase a new battery at a very reputable phone store...i.e., Sprint Store, Verizon Store, etc.

You've got PM...
