| Apex Techie Wannabe | I turn on my PC, and it starts up like it normally would, but then right after the Windows XP Home loading screen, it flashes a blue screen and then restarts the PC. If I leave it on, it just continues this cycle over and over. Any suggestions? I'd rather not just reinstall Windows cause I have some stuff on there I really need and I was stupid not to back it up to my second hard drive. | |

Alternately, hold down the F8 key as it boots up, and go into your startup options list. Choose Safe Mode, and see if that helps. If it boots up completely, do it again, only choose the option of getting a detailed startup description ... this should result in you being able to see which device driver(s) are failing during boot. Then you can go back into Safe Mode and replace the driver with a known-good working one. -godling | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
