Default Alarm at startup and weird images?? Help!

So I come home and turn my computer on only to hear the mobo alarm screaming at me and I look at my screen and there's a whole bunch of blue lines with strange white triangles and images like Webdings on the screen. I dusted it out and everything and the problem still happened. I unplugged everything that wasn't necessary and it booted up but it took a while to boot. I'm going to plug everything back in now to see if anything causes problems.. but does anyone think they might know what happened? Strangest thing I've seen.

Thanks!

EDIT: I think there was a problem with my video card because now there's no signal coming out of one of the ports...

does your vid card have a cooler on it ?

If it does - - check to see if the fan works - re attach the cooler , applying fresh TIM, try a diff vid card if possible.

I've come to that realization, sucks, but lifetime warranty is not bad at all, I've already contacted XFX, just waiting for a reply from them.

Thanks!

Oh and yes, I checked the fan is still running on the cooler.. it's the factory cooler.. not touched.

Yea, so I was getting the RMA ready and installing a spare Radeon X600 card I had, I uninstalled the nvidia drivers, it wouldn't let me install the catalyst drivers though so I install the card and it's going well, I can get past the XP login screen but then the system fails and restarts. I have no problem getting into Safe Mode so I'm gonna start taking away some startup programs that have anything to do with graphics and see if it helps... if you have any other ideas about what is causing this please help? Thank you.. (it's not happening when the 7800gt was installed)
