laptop help

I am having this problem with my laptop where I have to pop the battery in and out every now and then to get it to turn on and stay on. would a new battery fix this or would I have to take it in somewhere to get it fixed?

Make and model?

I've had this problem w/ the Lenovo x31 from time to time. This *can* be attributed to the capacitors. One way to resolve that is to remove the battery and power plug, and hold down the power button for a few seconds as if trying to turn it on. Do this several times. Apparently it helps clear out the capacitors, and will then turn on normally when you reattach the battery.

okay I will try that next time it happens. I know its an hp, it has and intel core 2 duo, nvidia 7600, 2 gig memory, 2 hard drives (80 and 60 gig I think, not in raid). I will try that, thanks. btw, I love this laptop. plays games great (not like crysis or anything) but I can supreme commander and oblivion on high with no AA so I think it will hold me over till I finally finish my first build.good laptop though definately worth trading my ps3 for.
