Question Belkin dropping connection

Okay, i'm running a Belkin F5D5231-4 with one of the black Virgin media modems (Not sure of the model or manufacturer but i do know the old silver ones were Ambit). Every once in a while the send light on the modem stops flickering and my connection drops, which doesn't happen when i'm connected directly to the Modem. Just posting in case somebody else had experienced similar issues and knew how to troubleshoot it because i'm at my wits end. I've tried disabling the firewall functionality etc but it makes no difference.

I may be wrong here, but it sounds like the uplink port on the router. Do you have another router or a switch to test with?

Not here. I could try swapping the cables out but that's about it. I'll give that a shot in half an hour and let you know how it goes. ==Edit== Just switched the cables, let's see how it goes.

I say plug into your modem directly for now and run a firewall so you don't catch any nasties.

No, it's all wired. I don't like the idea of wi-fi constantly passing through my body lol.
