| Uhh.. unless you want one of those ultra expensive GPS units for cars like Alpine puts out, just get a road atlas like the rest of us. Even the car ones are more appearance than anything IMHO. But then again I'm the son of a trucker, my mommy taught me to drive through hell with a load of ice in the back, and drive it out again. ![]() | ||

| to keep from falling off a cliff try looking where your going. if you want a car specific one those can get kind of pricy. so i suggest a good handheld model you can load maps into. i have a garmin etrex legend and it comes loaded with the basic maps of north America. Remember they all have this warm up time and look for one with memory to add maps. Which means if its under $200 buxs it probably only has compass and coordinates. | ||

| i use a garmin 3 + gps and it is great. i have it setup so that it connects to my ipaq so i can have some more detailed maps at my disposal too. i even used it to get to my hotel in italy when i went and had no problems what so ever. the 3 + is quite accurate also typically putting me with in 15 feet of my true destination point. | ||
