Question HELP!

I have a Western digi 60 gig HDD that i recently acquired, and am trying to get 98 to install to it. When 98 ran scandisk it found a size/label error and wanted to do a full surface scan.

After about 2 hours I quit and put the drive in to my machine, (Win XP) and right clicked it, went to format, and the only size I can format to is 7.84 gigs? What the hell?

How do i fix this and fix the bad clusters? The drive shows 55.8 gigs free..

Ben...if you have not figured it out. Did you Fdisk, removing previous Partitions and create a new large Partition the hard drive?

What version of 98 are you using? Is it earlier than Second Edition?

Get the WD diagnostic utility from their website and write all zeros to the drive. Should take about a half hour for that size drive. That will at least get the drive all nice and clean for ya.
