| Well... hard drive shopping time... has anyone had many experiences with Serial ATA hard drives? I am looking at the Western Digital Raptor 36.7GB HDD 10,000rpm and the 200GB HDD 7,200rpm. How would these work compared to the IDE version? Are SATA drives a lot better? Sw0nald... Your fan order is goin in tomorrow brotha!!! | I have two Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 80 gig SATA drives in a RAID 0 config and I've never seen performance like they have except in a SCSI RAID. I'm getting 74000 HD scores with SANDRA! The fact that they have more bandwith than a comparable IDE drive does make a difference. The smaller wires are also quite nice to handle because they are so much smaller. But be advised, they are also much stiffer than your traditional IDE cables. Last edited by FoeHammer; 16-October-03 at 10:02 AM.. | ||
