YOU HAD TO SAY THAT DIDNT YOUnow i'm all worried ![]() Ill take a pic and YOU tell me how ****ed it is EDIT: Oh btw.. I'm wondering...if you format like once a month or even more do you still need to defrag? The reason I ask is because I format more than I blink I just ran defrag anazlizer and it said " Analysis is complete for: (C![]() You do not need to defragment this volume." wtf ![]()

You format at least once a month or more? Is there a reason? How many programs do you install over and over again? Depending on what computer I'm using and what I have been doing determines when I defrag. I ususally defrag once a week, more if I'm copying/deleting numerous files or if I install a program.

| man, it ALWAYS says you don;t need to defrag. I've never had it tell me to defrag. I defrag about once a month. All drives. My system is ALWAYS on (Server '00) and I rarely format. Your formatting your system drive once a month would amount to defragging it - sorta. You should still defrag it. Especially that data drive. Looks pretty messy... ![]() | ||

| Geez - I defrag about 6 times while reinstalling everything from a clean format. I then defrag me C: drive about once a week. My c: drive is partitioned to 15 gigs. My storage drives are bigger. I had to defrag a 40 gig main partition once and never will i do that again. | ||

I can't say I'm overly surprised .. but it's been a while since I used Diskeeper... it could have stalled... or it could be arguing with another app - check out what else is running & close down everything that isn't absolutely essenstial. I don't know what OS you're using, but in win98 only the "Explorer" process (& obviously Diskepeer) is essential. I know in theory you're supposed to be able to let Diskeeper run in the background & get on with other things, but with that amount of work to do you might need to let it run by itself the first time. ![]()

| I dunno this thing doesnt make sense it popped up a message saying it finished defragging and I checked and it says the drive is "Healthy" so I went to analyze my C drive again and it says I should run a boot defrag then I clicked on the D drive and it says "Defragging - 39%" ???? lol | ||
