Default eSata Reboots?

I have a NexStar 3, with an 80 Gig WD Drive in it.

eSata bracket installed, and drivers from disc installed as well.

Plug in eSata, turn on HDD, BAM. I get a reboot.

Then my PC hangs at detecting HDDs.

Help. I can currently only transfer stuff via USB, and I was told eSata was much faster.

Motherboard:

SATA would be faster... otherwise they would have USB drive connectors right off the hard drive.

My guess is perhaps there is something in the BIOS... like that SATA channel is set to be part of a RAID array or perhaps you have it disabled?

Also, have you tried turning the HD on prior to turning on the PC? I know SATAs should be hot swappable, but it was just another thought.

Why would you need drivers? It should just function natively, shouldn't it?

Shouldn't be under the IDE section I believe... (if I was at home, I'd be better able to help)
I think it's under a different BIOS section.

You are running RAID yes?

Doh I just realized this was in the OC hardware section, please move to regular section.

I've tryed having the HDD on while booting, it hangs at detecting drives though.

Why I would need drivers, I know not. But they included a disk.

OK, since the drive in question works as a USB device, the only things I can think of:

Try a different SATA port on the mobo

Contact customer service at Vantec... perhaps the SATA port on that enclosure is bad
