| the reason i suggested that board is for it's newest chipset and it supports the 400fsb chips. not all the Canterwood chipset boards support the 400fsb. BTW what's the FSB for the P4 your have now? if it's 533 then i'd suggest these boards for the 865pe ABIT IS7-E ,Intel 865PE chipset Springdale for Socket 478 for the 875p $98.99 with free shipping. ABIT IC7, Intel 875P chipset for Socket 478 P4 Canterwood $137.99 with free shipping prices quoted from newegg.com | ||

| Sicone54; The Abit IS7 line of boards feature the Intel865PE chipset and beat almost all Intel 875 boards out there, in terms of performance and cost ratio. Just $99-$125 depending on which sub-model you choose. Kickass Review I use the Abit IS7-E and I am stable as a rock running 3.4GHz and getting 5.2GB/s memory bandwidth ![]() I have never had a better motherboard ![]() Abit IS7-E @ NewEgg.Com for $98 | ||

| go ECS, I think they also make P4 boards, but if not then go giga-byte or MSI, I have a MS-5169 Socket 7 w/100MHz FSB, still works great and I found it on the beach with a $h!tload of corrosion on it, rust all over the north bridge, took it and had it cleaned where my dad works, and fired it up and it works fine. Has no more corrosion on it ![]() | ||

| I Have an Abit IC-7 with a 2.4GHz SL6RZ Costa Rica Week 52 running at 3.6GHz I've tried to get it to 4GHz but it just wont ;-( 3.8 is the highest, but hey- 3.6GHz at 800MHz FSB is not bad Thats running at 42*C idle. Week 52 must have been a good one 3.6GHz- do I have bragging rights? | ||
