Default MSI 6378 gets no video

any tips on how to fix this issue

256 SDRAM spectek
Brand new IDE cables
Brand new floppy drive
Brand new ATX case
950mhz AMD
Brand new HDD 40gb

The board gives me no video at all ,the fCPU fan starts and i get lights on the floppy ,CDrom and humming on the HDD BUTwhen i plug the monitor in ,the no signal screen goes black
According to MSI , there is no way to disable video onboard .
They replaced it twice , could it be something on my end?

Does it pass post? And does the onboard video work?
Try just the onboard for now.

Alrighty. It's a KT133 Board. Cool, used to own one of those so yeah I can be of help. Alrighty. First if you are using an actualy AGP card and not the onboard trident video then remount your card several times and make sure its firmly in place. Take out your RAM and remount it making sure you hear two clicks for each stick. Make sure your CPUfan is connected to the motherboard's designated CPU fan header. Make sure that all HDD and Floppy cables are inserted correctly and firmly. Finally if none of that works, then try your CPU and RAM in a different computer, either or both could have turned bellyup on you. Hope this was of help to you.

Check your JFSB1 Jumper (Near Dimm1) and make sure it's not set for 133.

Also check to see if your CMOS jumper is on pins 1-2 instead of 2-3. Also try replacing CMOS battery if its low on juice. Pretty old board there so the battery may be dead.

Call for tec support, if all else fails.

Are your drives set up correctly, master slave ect.?
What else is not working.?

Take out ram and replace it firmly. You MUST hear two clicks for each stick for it to be in firmly. If you have any videocard laying around please try that too. What processor are you using anyways? Athlon or Duron?

Try this.....take your mobo outta the case, build it on your bench, like you would in the case, drives, everything hooked up. but make sure you put an anti-static pad down, or something like that. it may be touching something in the case. i am a tech for a Comp.company, and i have had to do this a few times, and it works flawlessly... any problems PM me.

man if you weren't getting any beeps and no video, could have been your CPU, but too late now I guess.

If it makes you feel any better, we got a whole box of bad ones once. 10 boards that wouldn't POST.

You broke the ****ing thing in half? WTF! . I bet I might have been able to revive it by guiding you through. Don't come crying to us if it did turn out to be your RAM or your PROCESSOR.
