Default PC Won't Start

Ok, my pc was working fine about a hour and thirty-minutes ago, my pc was working fine. But, then I decided to clear my CMOS, now my won't start up. The pc itself starts up (power leds, fans, and green light at the bottom of the mobo turns on). But, my mouse won't light up (keyboard lights), and my screen will not display the "ASUS" logo, and now I can't hear the *beep* i always got.

P.S.
Question about Case LED Connectors.
I just need to know, the triangle on the back of a connector means "ground" right???

*Steps I did to Clear CMOS*
1. Remove Battery
2. Move Cap to 2-3
3. Wait 15 Seconds
4. Put cap back to the 1-2 position
5. Insert Battery
6. Start.... (didn't start)

I think I had a similiar problem when I overkill clocked my system by accident. I'd say turn off the PSU on the switch, pull the mains cord (maybe unneccessary), wait a few seconds and plug everything back in and just hope for the best.

Damn man...I don't know if anyone else has any advice, but I'd start trying your parts out on a seperate rig since you may have some hardware killed...

Hey CKPHiL!

Just as a future reference you kinda overkilled the clear the cmos.

Option 1
If you pull the cmos battery there's no need to move the cmos jumpers. Since the battery was keeping those settings retained. by pulling the battery all those settings are lost.

Option 2
Here's the procedure......
Unplug the power cord from the psu.
remove the jumper from 1-2 to 2-3 or follow what's in your mb manual.
wait 10-15 secs and replace back in reverse.

Now onto your problem..........
Im most circumstances removing the cmos battery and or resetting the cmos jumpers shoud not cause a no post situation. Did you make sure you touched the chasis before sticking your hands in. To remove any esd that could have been built up inside you?

Did you unplug the psu from the wall before clearing the cmos? Im pretty sure if you look in your motherboard manual. It should state to pull the power plug before resetting the cmos. If not done this could do damage to the motherboard.

On another note when you mentioned about the led molex connectors. Did you install any of these? If so did you install them correctly. Since your asking about it, im guessing your unsure and want to know for sure if their installed correctly. Could this have any relation as to why your mb wont post?

When I was reading my mb manual it said to "remove battery, then put jumper on the 2-3..... etc". I was also wearing a anti-static bracelet.

the connectors i was having issues with were these

(I was told, which seems to be right) Generally the white wires are ground for those...

So wait, you decided on a whim to clear your BIOS?

To connect the case cables to the motherboard.

Look at your diagram in the book.

White is common ground (-) and color is hot (+). Connect them up that way......
In most cases the tags should be facing towards the bottom of the board but its best to follow the manual.

I hope this helps.....

I have a Tsunami (sibiling case) and that drove me insane, but I think black is hot in that instance...

As far as those hookups go, I believe white in the presence of black or other colors, is ground. Black in the presence of colors other than white is ground. It isn't life or death with these, they'll either work or not work if you do them wrong, won't kill anything (MAYBE the LEDs)

Like I said, I had a very similiar problem, when did this happen? I'd say just wait on it, don't plan on it being a total loss yet.
