| Hello, I got a free PC more or less from work and it came with a Asus P5LD2 and is running a 775 chipset and is the 660 3.6... Stock cooler, because I can't fit anything else.. I just noticed T2's post about the Abit NI8 - Which would be the better board? I have always been an Abit fan. I know it has dual SLI, but that is of no real concern and I am not wanting to spend alot of money, but if the NI8 board is better, I could prolly let go af 60ish bucks. Any opinions? | ||

| well I am looking for somewhere in between.. I already have 6 computers sitting beside me and one in the living room and I really don't want to spend to much more. (damn rackmount fetish) I would like a decent performer out of the case, but I am not one to have alot of time for OCing, so a good stable board that has decent performance. Only reason I ask DealerMaker is because of the nice deal ya posted. | ||

| My recommendation is that an Intel chip should be paired with an intel chipset. Stay with the Asus mobo. The stability is better than with the nVidia chipset. If you want better performance - overclock it. My system (see sig) performs very well and it's rock solid. The Asus has a lot of potential, so unless you plan on going SLI I cannot see the added value of the Abit board. BTW, you can probably fit a ThermalRight XP-90 on the CPU or the new Ultra-90.
