Default Question about my mobo...

Well I just picked up one of these bad boys

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136166

Hehe cant pass up that one day sale.

Neways...I have a DFI SLi-D and will be selling it (hint hint make an offer)

however the board had been setup for an experiment in extreme cooling I did, That being said the board has been protected with silicone. Around the CPU socket and other parts near the CPU. This was done about 4 months ago and I have not seen any change in the boardÂ’s performance or behavior.

My question is should I sell be board at below what I think I could get for it, or should I go ahead and try and get a good deal out of it. Also if need be would it be safe to try and remove the silicone? I donÂ’t want to do this unless it is completely safe and or necessary. Thanks!

O yah and if you are interested in the board it comes with everything and has been used for only 6 months, still in wonderful condition. I was thinking around $125 (shipped) for the board as I just checked Pricewatch.com and they are going for around 150-160

Removing the silicone would probably require a chemical release agent, and I don't think the factory coatings on the board would hold up to it, but there may be options I have not read about.

Maybe you will get lucky and find someone that wants to do a similar project

Hmm...did a bit of searching, looks like there are a few options (Brakecleaner, alchohol)

Yah I was thinking that the cilicone would be a b to get off, because of the fact that it sticks to the board it self. However as far as the grese goes I will try to get as much of that off as posible.

EDIT I hope my new board is as good as everyone says it is *crosses fingers*
Thanks for the help Necro....btw you need a DFI SLi - D ready for phase cooling

Thanks... but no, I still have my Phase sittng here, but I don't plan on using it on my 939 anymore, I will probably get rid of it, or save it for a future project.
