| I got twin boards here in my shop , both made by Intel , spec's as follows, just from looking at them ATX skt 478 4 dimm slots DDR 2x IDE 1x Floppy 2x SATA 1x AGP 5x PCI ms/kb/usb/nic/nic/printer/sound all onboard Also apprears to have an onboard power and reset button has 2 leds for post codes ( the kind that show numbers ) Cant tell about the N/B chip, as its under a HS, the S/B is Intel Secret FW82801DB L214IX3Q QC97ES BIOS Chip Intel N82802AB8 A2200235 and lastly the only markings on the board , a bar code sticker with the following - INNG22700277 AA A62469-401 The problem i'm having is that I cannot find out one single thing about this board from ANYWHERE. I looked through the Intel site, searched google ( only found two hits ) looked at Dell , Compaq , nothing Its as if this board doesnt exist, i'm needing some help , cus the board powers up for like 10sec then shuts down , no matter what I try, clearing BIOS , new battery, only have CPU and one ram stick installed P4 1.6GHz Bufflo 512 DDR 2700 So , i'm wondering if anyone has run across this board or knows of this phantom Intel Mobo, I'd kinda like to get it up and running , it looks like it would be a good board, and from the SATA and led's for post codes, a newer type board. | ||

| I can't help you with info about the board, but I can offer ideas as to how to get it up and running. First I am assuming that these are engineering samples so they may be designed to work with very specific hardware. Another assumption is that they are suppose to monitor health differently than a standard mobo. I would try to fire it up with a PCI video card. Another thing is that it may have a problem with the CPU fan- it may be reading the wrong speed and that's why it's shutting down - make sure that the fan's speed signal is correct. Another option is that it may be reading the wrong temp - does it have a diode in the middle of the socket? I hope that my ideas set you in the right path. Good luck Mace. | ||

| What's going on HTRN. I was doing some research into the board, and your right, it's a phantom alright. The only thing I've been able to come up with is that it was a developers board, and that you might be running the wrong proc on it. The developers board that I found that even matched this one slightly was one running an Intel Pentium M (400mhz FSB, 1.6GHz) with Intel 885GME and Intel FW82801DB developement kit. I found this info here. As well, I manged to find someone else who was running into the same problem with this board over at Wim's Bios about 2 years ago.
I know this doesn't help much, but hopefully some of the info I managed to pull wasn't something that you've already found. Hope this helps one way or another. - atr3yu

| Well, i got an E-mail from Intel about the board , and heres what they said,
Now I know im not the sharpest tack in the box, but correct me if im wrong, if the board CLEARLY has INTEL silk screened on it then its NOT a third party board, its an INTEL board.......... so basiclly , they dont know jack $h(T Oh and thanks for all the tips on what to try, I'm gonna play with the two boards tonight or tommorow and I'll let ya know if I get one fired up. BTW , there's a little plug connector just above the agp slot, its 10 pin (2 rows of 5 ) and is female ( like the ends of an ide cable ) anyone know what this might be for ?? not that it matters , just curious is all.

| Apex Techie Wannabe | hey man cant help with the real problem unfortunatly but i think the female socket your refering to on the motherboard is either for the case usb sockets or audio, as i know many manufacturers such as msi now use this kind of socket. hope you get it sorted m8 SniffyB | |

| Hello HTRN, sorry i am late on getting to answer this question i will try to help if i can, I ask a dear friend of mine who also has been building computers for about 20 years now, i sent him some of the pictures of the MB and he said to me that INTEL did make those MB but they where made for a third party server , such as Compact, HP ETC, and that those MB even though they had there logo on them they did not support them, Which he said the same thing you said It is totally BS ,if they have there logo imbedded into them and sold them they should support there products, He also told me It is kind of like buying parts for a Chevy,Ford ETC. you could buy parts but does not mean there where made by the company even though it might say Chevy,Ford ETC.on them. PS, I am glad to see that you where able to at least get them up and running. | ||
