IR module connector A7N8X

Hello fellow pimps.

Does any one of you A7N8X deluxe owning pimps ever take advantage of the IR module connector? I'm trying to use every feature of the mobo and cant seem to figure out what to do with this one. Can you ad a remote control perhaps? The ones ive seen on the web are usually USB or Serial port.

I attached a pic from the manual of the port.

So anyone got a clue

Never taken advantage of it... didn't even know it was there, actually. But I don't see any reason for me to hook it up... I mean, hell... I even tore out my front usb and firewire ports because not only did they block airflow, but they had all the wires seperate instead of a single connector for one usb port... so I was like, screw that I don't need it that bad.

That's there to hook up an IR tranceiver to communicate with other eqipment such as other comps or printers. Sort of like wireless networking but using IR instead of RF. I dont know if it can be user for some type of remote. There may be other uses I am not aware of.

Syncronizing with a palm or other assorted accessory... methinks. Thats what we used on our ancient palm...
