memory slots 2,3,&4 are unstable?

just recently i noticed my computer was getting very unstable... its a venice 3000+ i had it set ot 9x250 on a pair of 512 xms...

so im chekin my rig out and i find out that if i pulled the #2 slot piece of memory the computer was now completely stable. so i go buy 4 sticks of 512 geil and stick em in the rig and beeb beeb beep... so i have come to the conclusion that the motherboard is bad... if i put any memory in slots 2,3 or 4 the thing wont barely boot up... i have never had something like this happen before, so i want to make sure im not missing something stupid before i go buy a new motherboard... anyone know whats up?

i tried changing voltage and speed and all that on the memory and nothing seems to make a difference...

Yup, the mobo could be bad. Or, you could have just had bad luck and got bad RAM in those slots.

Did you try running 2T command timings when you put in the 4 Geil RAM sticks? That's a required setting when you fill all the slots.
