Default Motherboard question...

i came down to 2 choices

1- Gigabyte Ga-K8NSC - 939 (NF3 250 agp) $95.xx

2- Asus A8V K8T800P -939 (Via agp) $95.xx

now i'm staying on agp because i just bought an agp 6600 gt about 2 mounth ago
& i can only afford the board + cpu i can't put another $150-200 for a pci-e card

now this new motheboard will go with a 3000+ 512k / 1600 / 90nm

i know that the via board got dual channel but what about the agp/pci lock ,like on the nforce board?
if we compare these 2 motherboard wich would be better to overclock or will they be the same performance?

the point of asking is that they don't have the gigabyte board in stock so i may have to go with the via board?

i always like & use nforce board so i don't know about the Via ...?

thx!

NF3 Ultra-D 939/AGP thats all you need its 5 dollars more, and well worth it for all the overclocking capabilitys, and its still agp for your needs.

I lucked out and spent my money on a car and didnt upgrade my 9250 agp so now im raising for that PCI-E

The Gigabyte is a nice choice.. , mho...
found a nice review here;

I've owned several Gigabyte boards and they were all "rock stable"... something I value the most
when buying a new MoBo...

Love ASUS as well... but I've got some BAD VIA expieriences.... granted, they go way back.. but still..

It should havew the lock, the only board i ever heard of not having them in the Pro stage is the Abit, can't find the spec sheet or a spec sheet that says it does or doesnt,

VIA's chipsets suck for overclocking. You would be much better off with the NF3-based Gigabyte.
