Tyan beep code ......

Well , the site is down , the manual is worthless and i cant seem to find anything relevent on google, so here it is.........

Tyan Tiger i7320 Dual Xeon mainboard , Xeon 3.0GHz 800fsb 2mb cache 64bit / HT , 2x 1gb ecc/reg DDR 333 super talant.

Got it hooked up and i get a beep code like this 4, 3, 1, 2. wont post bios, nothing, Anyone know what this is off hand ??

I've tryed different ram , swapped out the PSU **both new psu's 460w**,

the cpu and ram are all thats hooked up besides the K-board/mouse/monitor

with all the looking i just did your not the only one with issues

sorry man look like youll have to contact tyan for the beep codes

check the bios revision...

i place my money on the cpu's

i bet you have an older version of the bios that doesnt support the 2mb cache...

that is was i was reading but how to flash if you cant get it to post ???

unless you try this

process of elimination

just put in mobo and vga card

no ram

note beep codes

then put in ram

and note codes

if same them probally the ram

if different then probally bios or a jumper issue

also try a different key board regular and usb

my gigabyte didnt like my old key board plugged in a usb one and it worked fine

update the bios and wala old key works now

Thanks for all the help guys, i'm gonna call Tyan in the AM , i dont wanna mess with the bios cuz I can just take back the cpu and get the 1mb cache type if thats the case

they have informaded be that that perteticular beeb code is a memory code

4...3...1...2 it is indicating that the memory your using is not ecc reconized by the board

their reccommended course of action was to try diff memory to get board to post then update

the bios as the newer bios support more brands of ram

so they say it was deffinately the ram

DaYuM J, your on the ball Bro. I also called and was commin in to post up my findings, but ya beat me to it , BIG PROPS for all your help and for going the extra mile with that help.

I called and got the same info, then checked the ram I was using, and well , it was SUPPOSED to be ECC/REG ram but was mis-packaged. The packaging said ECC/REG but the numbers ON THE STICK turned out not to be. Quick trip to my warehouse, and BOOM BABY !!!! one dual Xeon server up and running..... and shipped out in about an hour too.

i figured ram at first but am to self conscience to post my gut instinct sonme time it the wealth of useless information thing hehe

btw thanks for the case offer

if any thing the tree did some good by thining the herd a bit

just sad for the loss of my other 3 6600gt's

now i debating on buying a fx 60 or holding out for building one of these

TK , if you read this , I'd really like to know also as i've been eyeballin' that board for a bit now and am REALLY leaning toward buying it as my next MAJOR build for myself. I'd really like to know how the SLi works along with all the other stuff.

yeah ... i have a lawyer friend who wanted a top end gaming rig.... he gave me a budget of 10k.... i have spent 6 so far... ill post specs later
