Default nothing's happening!

I just finished playing a game, came back a little later, and my computer was completely frozen. i hit restart, the fans turn on, i hear my cd-roms start spinning... and that it. My monitor isn't receiving any input, i'm almost completely sure my HDD's aren't spinning, and my mouse isn't getting power at all but the keyboard is. I unplugged it, popped out the cmos battery and switched the cmos jumper, waited awhile, replaced everything, and still nothing. what's going on?

Asus A8N32-SLI
Antec Truepower 2.0 550W
2x Corsair 1gb 3200
2x Leadtek 6600gt-thx
AMD x2 3800+

Unplug everything (all drives, peripherals, etc) , remove all cards (except video), attempt to start.

Do you have any diagnostic lights on your motherboard or do you hear any beeps? Sounds like there might be a short on your motherboard somewhere. Do you have a different graphics card you could try in your system? That could be causing the short.

I had this happen to me and I just replaced my motherboard. My comp was fine after that but I never figured out what was wrong w/ the old board. Good luck.

ah HA!

well, since i couldn't check my video card, cpu, or motherboard, i tried diagnosing my ram. BINGO, one of my DIMMs is bad. i hope i can get it RMA'd.

but now the stupid trial version of windows x64 says it's expired cause my BIOS clock got reset.
stupid F*&%ing microsoft.

They say when you play a Microsoft CD backwards you can hear satanic messages...but that's nothing, if you play it forward it will install Windows!
